In order to make your trip to Guatemala more comfortable, we have gathered some information and a local point of contact (Guatemala Nature) who should help you plan your stay and enjoy this spectacular country as much as possible. In this section you will find three things:

  1. A map of the most interesting places and how to get there.

  2. An itinerary recommendation depending on the number of days you are able to stay.

  3. Contact details of Guatemala Nature to book your transportation to and from the airport and/or book your travel itinerary/excursions within the country.

2. Example Itinerary

*Ideally you should plan to be in Antigua from the 7th to the 10th of January so you don't miss out on all wedding related events.

Just for the wedding (3-5 days)

Best to stay in Antigua and plan mini-excursions from there. Plan for:

  • 3 days before the wedding

  • 2 days after the wedding

In the next section, you will see that Guatemala Nature offers several packages to multiple destinations for 1-3 days departing from Antigua

3. Transport & Contact

La Aurora International Airport (GUA), located in Guatemala City, is the closest point of entry for travelers arriving from abroad. Please note that Guatemala requires a tourist visa in some cases. For more information on entry requirements, visit the Guatemalan Ministry of Foreign Affairs website here.

Antigua is about 1h 20 m by car from the airport. To help you plan your trip better, we’ve arranged, together with Guatemala Nature, several recommended transportation options for both the trip from Guatemala City to Antigua and the return trip. Uber is also a safe option. Taxis in the capital are NOT recommended.
